Two-stage process
How Referrals Work.
We keep the public process simple and protect sensitive information. Detailed personal, health, or legal screening happens only after a specialist responds — never in an open form.
Referral partners include disability case managers, independent living counselors, vocational rehabilitation professionals, DSS adult-services staff, guardians, and families supporting a qualified adult.
Stage 1 — 60-second placement check
The form below captures only what determines preliminary fit: where the person needs housing, when, and the level of care and supervision required.
Stage 2 — placement screening
If preliminarily qualified, a placement specialist follows up privately to gather what's reasonably needed for a placement decision.
Clear response
Every referral gets a response — a match, a waitlist position, or an honest explanation of why we can't place and what else may help.
Referral statuses you may see
- Preliminary Fit — passed the 60-second check, next is screening.
- Funding Verification Pending — payment source is plausible but not yet verified.
- Benefits Restart Pending — benefits (e.g. Social Security) are being reinstated; not a rejection.
- Agency Funding Pending — an agency or grant payment is being arranged.
- Ready for Bed Match — approved and awaiting an available, appropriate bed.
Lorinthian's House NC provides non-licensed, non-medical housing for qualified 100% ambulatory adults who are capable of independent living and have an appropriate verified income or housing-funding source. Submitting a referral does not guarantee placement — all placements are subject to screening and applicable program criteria.
