Who We House, and What to Expect. Clear, Up Front.
We provide non-licensed, non-medical housing for qualified 100% ambulatory adults capable of independent living — including adults age 62 and older. Every placement is subject to screening, an appropriate verified income or funding source, and applicable program criteria. This page explains what that means — and what we don't provide.
Eligibility & expectations
Independent Living, Honestly Defined.
- An adult able to manage their own daily care and daily living independently.
- Age 62 or older for the returning-citizen and older-adult housing tracks.
- An appropriate verified income or housing-funding source sufficient for the applicable housing arrangement.
- Able to maintain a rental agreement and follow program expectations.
- 100% ambulatory, or able to manage mobility needs within independent-living scope.
- A qualifying referral or eligible application routed through appropriate channels.
Placement is subject to screening, availability, background and legal review as applicable, and program criteria. A referral or application does not by itself guarantee placement.
Lorinthian's House NC provides non-licensed, non-medical housing for qualified adults age 62 and older (returning-citizen and older-adult tracks) — and qualified 100% ambulatory adults in our veteran and disability housing tracks — who are capable of independent living and have an appropriate verified income or housing-funding source. We do not provide medical care, personal care, medication administration, behavioral-health treatment, habilitation, or 24-hour supervision.
What we do not provide
Be Clear on Our Scope.
- Personal care or assisted living services.
- Medication administration or medical treatment.
- Substance-use or mental-health treatment.
- Nursing care or licensed personal-care services.
- Probation or parole supervision, monitoring, or reporting.
We partner with external service providers who support residents. Those supporting services are coordinated through the community and referral partners — not delivered by Lorinthian's House as clinical care.
